Debera has been kind enough to take time out of her busy schedule, (what am I saying, she's retired,) to scan the Lansbery/Sankey Family Recipe Book for me and I'd like to share some of the recipes with you from time to time.
This classic is found in the "Main Dish" section:
Lazy Day Stew--Marion Lansbery
2 lbs. raw beef cubes put in a roaster in a single layer. Add whatever veggies you want plus 1 8oz. can of tomato sauce, 8oz. water and 1 tsp. sugar. Add salt, pepper, garlic and onion salt to taste. (In the heart healthy version you can omit the sugar, salt and sub garlic and onion powder. If you want the anti-heart healthy version throw in a glob of lard.) Add 2 tsp. quick tapioca over the top, seal with foil and put in the oven @ 350 for 2.5 hours.
Bon appetite!

October 2009 Edition--Part 2
How's the weather in your neck of the woods? The Bend folks were treated to a little white stuff (from the sky that is,) earlier this month. This picture was provided by Jesse and Rachel.

In Post Falls news, Sunset Island has been packed away for the winter. Alas! In a related story, Jody has started physical therapy on his shoulder and was threatening to mow the lawn. Maybe he should save his strength for snow shoveling . . . Speaking of shoveling, what's Laurie been up to?
October 2009 Edition--Jackson Special
Hello everyone. Please excuse the delay as I was waiting for the blessed event before posting.
By now I'm sure you all know Tracy and Jennifer are the proud parents of Jackson William Skidmore, born 9:21 am mst 19.5 inches 6 lbs 9 oz. As Tracy himself put it:

"Son, wife and I are home. What an experience. I hate to say it but I forgot all about what goes into have a baby. Jen and Jackson are doing well. Jackson is a living, breathing, crying, sleeping boob-sucking, and pooping machine! Gotta love it!"
A big Lansbery congratulations is in order!

Lansbery Ledger September 09 Family Camp Edition
Well, the 2009 family camp is in the books, and what a spectacle it was! Although the group was smaller then year's past some of the campers pulled more then their own weight; like Bruce for example. Lucky for Julie she's been working out.
And of course, what family camp would be complete without a little blood? Thanks Bill!
Last but not least another wedding will be taking place shortly. Sally and Mark will tie the noose--I mean knot--on Wednesday 9/9/09. They were kind enough to give a sneak peek of the honeymoon. The best of times to the two of you.

These people were arrested for disturbing the peace. A group mugshot was taken for posterity.
The meeting was held on Saturday and the majority voted to return to Clyde Holliday next year. Also during the meeting a story was read aloud about some brave americans in a foreign country. Did I say brave? I meant Kay and Tom, a.k.a. "Los Abuelos Desperados."
